OW Review - Vega One Shake
I am surprised that it has taken me this long to do a review on this product! Shoutout to my fiancé for making the suggestion.
I started using vega-one shakes about three years ago when I started graduate school in Fall 2013. I wanted a protein shake that was diary and soy free as I am allergic to both. I also wanted something that was all natural and nutritious. After doing some research, I discovered that Vega One is all of these things!
It has 20 grams of protein, 6 servings of greens, 50% of the recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in fiber, omega-3's, antioxidants and probiotics.
Vega One was created by Brendan Braizer a vegan, former triathlete, professional Ironman and health author. This was super inspirational to me since I would soon be embarking on my two year journey as a vegetarian and I purchased a group fitness package at UGA's student recreation center, Ramsey.
I suggest ordering it from Amazon. It is cheaper than buying it in stores and there is a great variety of flavors and sizes. My favorite flavor is Vanilla Chai! I also have tried the vanilla and chocolate flavors. Both are good but the chai is a great touch! I enjoy mixing it with almond milk or rice milk. I recently started using the Silk Protein Milk which is a blend of almond milk, cashew milk and pea protein. It also packs and additional 10 grams of protein.
The 30.8 oz. size usually last me for about a month. I make the shake every morning for breakfast, mostly during the week. That comes to to about $1.60 for my breakfast each day. Not bad!
