The Healthiest Fast Food Chain


After leaving a lame New Year's Eve party early, my boyfriend and I decided that we would get some food and then head home to celebrate. Less than an hour before midnight, we found ourselves in the Taco Bell drive thru. Before realizing that it was closed, I made peace with the fact that I was going to allow myself to go all out and indulge in a cheat meal. Little did I know at the time that my "cheat" meal may not have been so bad after all! Highlights include:

  • Reducing sodium across the menu by %15

  • Eliminating artificial flavors and trans fat

  • Vegetarian and high protein options

  • Removing some antibiotics from its chicken by early 2017.

  • Eliminating XL sodas

  • Cutting an additional 10% of sodium across the menu

  • Continuing to over low calorie options on the Fresco menu

Great job Taco Bell! I hope that other fast food chains will continue to consider ways to improve their menus!
